The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is a wonderful place for families, with rotating hands-on exhibits throughout and a dedicated room for little ones age 3 and under. Founded in 1983 in Portsmouth, the museum moved to its current Dover location in 2008.
The entire facility is wheelchair-accessible, and service animals are always welcome. Additionally, noise-cancelling headphones are available to borrow at the front desk.

Castle in the Clouds (aka the Lucknow Estate) is a gorgeous 16-room arts-and-crafts style mansion built by eccentric shoe magnate Thomas Plant in 1913-14.
Nowadays, a visit to the Castle in the Clouds, located high in the Ossipee Mountain Range, offers sweeping views, self-guided tours of the mansion, and horseback riding and hiking opportunities, as well as various events.

The Great Bay Discovery Center is the education hub of the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.
