Castle in the Clouds (aka the Lucknow Estate) is a gorgeous 16-room arts-and-crafts style mansion built by eccentric shoe magnate Thomas Plant in 1913-14.
Nowadays, a visit to the Castle in the Clouds, located high in the Ossipee Mountain Range, offers sweeping views, self-guided tours of the mansion, and horseback riding and hiking opportunities, as well as various events.
