Berwick Academy was founded in 1791, when Seacoast residents raised funds to better educate "the deplorable youth in this part of the country." The school is a co-ed day school for students in grades pre-K through grade 12. Admissions are competitive.

The Kittery Community Center offers a variety of youth sports and dance/theater classes, many of which are open to non-residents. There are also a number of summer sports camp opportunities.
Additionally, the Eyes of the World Discovery Center offers child care, preschool, and after-school programs.

Seacoast United runs a soccer club and tournaments, a field hockey club and tournaments, a baseball club and tournaments, lacrosse tournaments, and various camps and clinics for kids ages 3 and up--including a February vacation soccer camp in Hampton and summer baseball camps around the Seacoast.
Seacoast United has been named a Premier Soccer Club by Nike.
