Come and meet the Ghosts on the Banke at Strawbery Banke’s famous Halloween celebration. Long-dead sea captains, 17th century shopkeepers and wayward pirates haunt the streets of Portsmouth’s oldest neighborhood as you trick or treat safely from house to historic house.

Cinemagic Portsmouth opened in early 2014. It offers both 2-D and 3-D screenings of current releases with all-stadium seating and all-digital presentation.

The Prescott Park Arts Festival offers a glorious, dizzying array of events and performances throughout the warmer months, many of them family-friendly and low-cost or free. There's also a summer theater camp for kids, Camp ENCORE!
As the name implies, all events take place in or near Portsmouth's Prescott Park.

The Music Hall, built in 1878, has been designated an American Treasure by the federal government.
