The Wellington Room is, quite simply, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, anywhere in the world.

My husband and I have been there several times for "special occasion" dinners over the years, and the food and service are consistently excellent. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, never snooty, and the views over the Piscataqua are lovely year-round.

The restaurant is on the expensive side but not at all overpriced, given the quality of the food and the overall experience. Menus vary seasonally (the Beef Wellington is a must-do, if it's on the menu that night).

I put ages 8 and up in the listing only because it's more of a "grown-up" spot, but well-behaved younger children would certainly be welcome at The Wellington Room, too.
