The Seacoast Science Center, a non-profit marine science education organization, was founded in 1992. The Center's mission is to educate the public about the importance of a healthy ocean, and there's a lot to do and see for visitors of all ages.
 
The center offers visitor programs every hour on the hour, as well as day camps (pre-K - age 8), programs for early learners (infants - age 5), programs for grades K-12, field trips, and more.
 
There are also multiple special events throughout the year at the Seacoast Science Center, and it's a great place for birthday parties. 
 
On a drop-in basis, the Seacoast Science Center offers:
  • Ocean Commotion: An active indoor program for ages 1-5 that teaches about nature through movement, music, stories, and games. Monday mornings from 9:30-10:30
  • Big Fish Little Fish: A short nature hike for ages 2-5. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:45 
 
The Center is located on a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean, and there's a playground just across the parking lot in Odiorne Point State Park.

Our family loves the Seacoast Science Center--there are exhibits that appeal to kids of all ages, and it's situated on an absolutely gorgeous spot right by the ocean (great playground just across from the parking lot, too).

We had Lorelei's birthday party at the Seacoast Science Center this year, and the function room is very nice and easily adaptable to accommodate many different-sized groups.

The touch tank is also a treat. We look forward to the days when Nicholas is old enough not to attempt to drink from it, as he did during our last visit. ...more
