We love taking our kids trick-or-treating at Ghosts on the Banke, to the point that we actually skipped regular neighborhood trick-or-treating last year (the weather wasn't cooperating, and we felt the kids had gotten their fill at Strawbery Banke!). Lots of spooky witches, jack-o-lanterns, and fun special effects, but nothing overly scary for the younger kids. And everyone will get plenty of candy going from house to house. It's fun to check out everyone's costumes against the backdrop of the historic setting, and nice to be able to grab a cup of hot chocolate (or coffee for the grown-ups) if the weather is chilly--as trick-or-treat weather so often is in our neck of the woods. ...more
