The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is a wonderful place for families, with rotating hands-on exhibits throughout and a dedicated room for little ones age 3 and under. Founded in 1983 in Portsmouth, the museum moved to its current Dover location in 2008.
The entire facility is wheelchair-accessible, and service animals are always welcome. Additionally, noise-cancelling headphones are available to borrow at the front desk.
The Museum hosts various programs and events throughout the year, as well as camps, and is also available for birthday parties. There is also Sunday Storytime at 2 pm during the summer months.

Our family has a membership at CMNH, and I have been taking both of my kids here since they were Bjornable. It's a wonderful place.
There is a lot to do and see for all ages, and there is a nice balance between rotating exhibits and permanent exhibits (the kitchen and the post office have been perennial favorites for my guys).
I have found the staff to be uniformly wonderful--super nice and friendly and helpful--and...more

This is an excellent place to take the kids, and they always enjoy coming here. The only downside, if you could even call it that, is that it's hard to wrangle both the 4-year-old and the 2-year-old if you come here solo because it's a large space and they're always shooting off in different directions.
