The Castle in the Clouds is a truly unique, beautiful spot. It's well worth a family day trip from the Seacoast area, perhaps in conjunction with some other Lake Winnipesaukee-area attractions.

I know the Castle in the Clouds well, having worked as a tour guide there back when I was in high school!

As the listing mentions, the "castle" was built by an eccentric millionaire about a century ago and features all kinds of interesting architectural and historical curiosities, as well as incredible views of the surrounding Lakes Region.

The grounds are lovely, too, and the perfect spot for antsy kids to run around and burn off some excess energy.
